Mother's day Creation

Hello Crafty Peeps ,

Mother's Day is a celebration honoring the mother of the family, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds, and the influence of mothers in society. It is celebrated on various days in many parts of the world, most commonly in the months of March or May. India celebrates Mother's day on  2nd sunday of May  ie 13th May this year , on this occasion I created this card for my Mom.

Details of the card
  • I have used a watercolor cardstock as the white base here
  • I have used Geo angles stencil and texture paste to create the background
  • I have splashed water colours green and blue to create a mixed media background.
  • Once the base is  dry I have adhered the Geometrical heart chipzeb  on it.
  • I have stamped and shabby watercolored the rose bud stamp set .
  • Adhered the fussy cut stamp design to the  Geometrical heart chipzeb  after trying out various combination .
  • I have used small heart chipzebs from Mini hearts set and finished the look with the sentiment .
  • I finally adhered the creation to a navy blue cardstock to complete the look.

Mother's day Layout

I wanted to create a layout to document this creation and didn't find any other way than add the Mother's day card on to my layout ! Interesting isn't it ?

I have used my lil bits of scraps on the corner most end to start the layout with !

I have used the smaller heart from the  Geometrical heart chipzeb  here as the base and once again used shabby watercolored rose bud stamped image and fussy cut to create a layer here . I have added sentiments like love you mom and you are my sunshine to go with the picture !

Here I have layered the layout with fancy flourish chipzebs and rose bud stamped and fussy cut images .

I have layered the card and the picture side by side to complete the layout . I totally love how this creation turned out , with plenty of space to write my heart out inside the card !

Thanks for dropping in would love to know if you enjoyed my work too!

Embossing texture on alterations tick-tock

Hello Friends,

I have an interesting makeover today at my Blog , I am talking about the empty brown tape which I have used here as the base . This is an improvised version of my creation done few years back HERE .

Supplies used -
Empty Brown glue tape base
Itsy Bitsy Pearlised metallic paint
Sizzix Tim holtz alterations tick-tock die (BIGZ DIE-TICK TOCK) to cut Chipboard
Itsy Bitsy Decoupage paper - Timeless Beauty is cut in circle shape
Itsy Bitsy Wild Rose - Coral Blend flowers and Handmade Florets
Itsy Bitsy 2mm Chipboard
Itsy Bitsy Pearlised metallic paint
Little Birdie Crackle Medium
Little birdie colour splash- Mocha
Little birdie Embossing texture paste - Frosty fizz
Stencil - Baroque Design
palette knife

I have painted the Brown tape ring in and out with acrylic colours - Itsy Bitsy Pearlised metallic paint. For the inside backdrop I have added the circle cut Itsy Bitsy Decoupage paper - Timeless Beauty as the base to make it like a spool !

For the centre I have created texture with Little birdie Embossing texture paste - Frosty fizz and Stencil - Baroque Design. Little birdie Embossing texture paste is a Thick heat embossing paste perfect for adding textures and dimensions to projects and it Dries to a matt finish. The embossing texture paste is amazing and very easy to use. It can be easily applied through the stencils .This texture paste needs heating after application and on heating it creates bubble like texture.
The resultant texture can be controlled by using controlled use of heat. The more you heat, the more bubbles start appearing.

To keep the design easily seen I have heat set this till the point the bubbles start appearing. I have used a palette knife to create this texture on the curvy background .

For both the ends I have cut chipboard 2mm the Tick tock die cut which is sturdy to make it stand like a clock! I have painted it with Itsy Bitsy Pearlised metallic paint and layered it with Little Birdie Crackle Medium . I have used Little birdie colour splash- Mocha to create the rust texture on the clock .

To embellish the Clock I have used Itsy Bitsy Wild Rose - Coral Blend flowers and Handmade Florets. Finally added a metal embellishment of the eiffel tower !!

This goes to my creative corner as a home decor !!

Thanks for dropping in would love to know if you enjoyed my work too!

Mixed media creations for spring

Hello Crafty peeps ,

Im at the Mudra blog with a blog post to share some inspirations with Mixed media creations .

Today I'm here to share my trial with textures and colours on a piece of cardboard that was a Cake base ! Interesting piece isn't it , we crafters keep hoarding things like these and much more packaging stuffs thinking of putting them to use some day , and sometime we do :P use them ....

This is how I went about creating on this Cake base
  • Prime the cake base with coating of gesso to cover the whole base
  • Once it is perfectly dried top a coat of chalk paint , I chose the baby pink shade
  • Dried the paint with the heat gun
  • Added the sparrow couple on one end and shaded it to match the background
  • I have created texture with Mudra's Stencil
  • In the meantime I have  made ready the Flowers with Mudra Cut3 Gardenia Die set

  • The flowers are made with papers from Beary Hugs pattern papers
  • To shape all the flowers in this project I have used embossing tools. This helps in giving beautiful creases to the flower petals.
  • But because of the thickness they need to be moistened by either misting or dipping in water to allow you to shape and emboss them easily.
  • Finally completed the flower by adding gold shaded mist over them and by adding pearls to the centre.

  • I have added leafy chipzebs which I have coloured with green mist along with it given some shading and textures .

  • The creation is completed with chipzeb Words#1 wordings which I have coloured with distress ink
  • The butterfly from Beautiful Butterflies chipzeb is shaded with pink and gold mist to complete the whole look .

I'm all satisfied with the outcome and totally love how Im getting into flower making spree with these !!

2. Rangoli Textured Card

I made a very simple card. I really wanted to highlight the beautiful pattern of the stencil, so I decided to use texture paste and glitter.

Card Details
  • I spread the texture paste and then sprinkled glitter heavily all over.
  • Once it was dry, I have added the handmade Mudra Cut3 Gardenia flower.
  • I also added a bit of copper colour string behind the Flower .
  • To complete the look I have added sentiment from Mixed greetings stamp set .

3. ATC Mixed media creation

Artist trading cards (ATCs) are miniature pieces of art that are traded around the world. The only official rule for ATCs is the size: 2.5″ x 3.5″.

I have worked with  Grunge fx 6”x6” Stencil for this Atc and paper scraps from Beary Hugs paper pack for this creation !

  • I have spread the texture paste and created the background with Grunge fx 6”x6” Stencil .
  • I have used brown and red mist to colour
  • I have adhered the mandala piece after the background dried
  • Further added handmade flowers made using Mudra Cut3 Gardenia flower die set.
  • I have used leafy chipzeb and words chipzeb to create this layout
  • Finally sprinkled sequins
Im playing along
That's all from me today , hope to have inspired you all to try these stuffs !

Background Techniques for Cards

Hello Friends

Im bringing more inspirations using Mudra's products for this brand new month.

Cheers - Masculine Birthday Card - Random stamping background

April is considered the Beer month in USA and hence I decided to create something for the Beer lovers !
  • For this card I decided to create my own background paper by randomly stamping the beer image from "Cheers" stamp set  onto a piece of white cardstock and leaving it uncoloured.
  • Here's a little behind the scenes on how my cards come together when I'm creating a stamped background. I usually practice stamping the design several times until I get the look I'm going for or a design that pleases my eye. Typically, I try to avoid stamping the same image next to itself. I also try not to stamp images in straight lines to help give the design a more random and free flowing feel.
  • After I finished creating my background, I cut a rectangle shape from black cardstock and stamped the sentiment onto it using Versamark Watermark Ink. I then heat embossed it with white embossing powder and added a mini wordings to follow . All the sentiment are from the Cheers stamp set .
  • I have added one beer stamped, coloured and fussy cut over the banner to complete the card .

Thinking of you - Watercolour background with shadow stamping

  • I have started with a A2 sized teal card base on which I have adhered the layers.
  • I have created second Card background on a watercolour panel with watercolours - yellow and pink giving me this lovely orange sheen.
  • Then I have randomly stamped flowers with black ink from a set of stamps "Persian Elements".
  • I have added Leaves from Leafy Swirls chipzeb as it is on the card
  • The sentiment is from "purely sentiments " stamp set .
  • To complete the card I have added pearls in teal to match the card base .

Fairytale tri fold card

I have created a fairyland with pattern papers and chipzebs here .

  • This is a 4"x4" Tri Fold card
  • For the cover I have used Tag chipzeb ,Fairy Tales chipzebs  and Words along with Beary Hugs pattern paper.
  • The  Fairy Tales chipzebs  is coloured and adhered here with double sized glue foam to create dimension.

That's all from me today , hope to have inspired you all to try these stuffs !

Flower power with spring colours

Hello Friends ,
Im back with some spring theme inspirations at the Mudra Blog .Today im sharing Easy paper flowers with Mudra Cut3 Gardenia Die set

I am not a big fan of Flower making but I do try it once in awhile and enjoy it , usually keeping it simple . Today I have used shaped small flowers from the Mudra Cut3 Gardenia Die set to decorate my Mini album cover page .

Sharing some tips on Flower making
  • To shape all the flowers in this project I have used embossing tools. This helps in giving beautiful creases to the flower petals.
  • I have used thick cardstock to make flowers, this will give you nice sturdy flowers which hold their shape well and can take a bit of crushing.
  • But because of the thickness they need to be moistened by either misting or dipping in water to allow you to shape and emboss them easily.
  • I have added a bunch of pollens to the center and after pulling the pollen through the hole secured it in place with a dab of glue.

Details of the cover page
  • The cover page is 8x8" in size
  • I have created the layout with spring theme and decorated it with chipzebs from Beautiful Butterflies, Floral Frames along with the small flowers from the Mudra Cut3 Gardenia Die set

Thank you so much for visiting & taking the time to comment on my blog. I love to hear from you & truly appreciate your feedback! Have a great day and I will see you soon again!
